MY STORY

A south Londoner through and through. Sport has always been my most comfortable place and still is.

I was a competitive swimmer with Beckenham Swimming Club from 1o-18 years, specifically backstroke and long-distance swimming events. From 15-18 years I was also part of Black Heath and Bromley Harries Athletics Club, where I specialised in the 3ooom track running race. I have some silver wear to show for it. During my time in these clubs, I was scouted by Glenn Cook, GB Triathlon Coach and at age 18 joined an Elite Level Triathlon Training Programme in Eastbourne under the TASS Scholarship to be part of the GB junior Triathlon Team, where I spent the next 5 years training. (Highlights - National Aquathlon Champion  2oo6/ GB Junior Triathlete 2oo8/ County champion in the 1oom & 2oom Backstroke three years running)

My thoughts on swimming … Most of our daily life is spent surrounded by concrete. Let me take you on a different journey, where you will gain confidence and physical mobility in the water. My top priorities when teaching you are to feel safe, have fun and to let you explore this space.

~ Beyond the pool ~ My passions include swimming [naturally], body mobility [being functional in and out of the water], music [listening and playing]

EXPERIENCE

Over 25 years in swimming, 15 of which have been teaching

swimming teacher/ site coordinator/ teacher trainer, assesor and mentor

Swimming Nature, LONDON, England, SEP 2o12 to DEC 2o24

After moving back to London in 2o12, I joined Swimming Nature where I would stay for the next 12 years, fine tuning my craft by learning from the founder, Eduardo Ferré. His methods have changed the game in the UK with children’s swimming lessons, and his tips and tricks will stay with me forever.

Throughout my tenure I taught babies, children and adults alike. Some of my students I've taught for many years, from being toddlers to becoming teenagers now. Teaching was alongside holding other roles.

My journey into teaching and coaching started in my early 2os when I was living and training in sunny Eastbourne, where I qualified as swimming teacher alongside my Triathlon Coaching Certificate. This is where I gained experience teaching group classes in a Secondary School.
